The Friday news, part two:
This War of Mine: The Last Broadcast DLC tackles truth and consequences in November
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-war-of-mine-the-last-broadcast-dlc-tackles-truth-and-consequences-in-november/
The Last Broadcast, the second in a series of "Stories" expansions for the dark survival game This War of Mine that debuted last year with Father's Promise, will be out on November 14. Written by 80 Days writer Meg Jayanth, the expansion will tell the tale of a radio operator struggling with his responsibility to the truth, in an all-new scenario that will "significantly" surpass the scale of the first episode.
Fortnite's next big in-game event announced, pray for cube death
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnites-next-big-in-game-event-announced-pray-for-cube-death/
Finally. Finally, Fortnite's cube might actually show us what's inside. Epic just announced that players should try to get in a match on November 4 at 1 pm ET to see the end of Fortnitemares and the beginning of whatever comes next. A few similar in-game events have marked the gradual transition between seasons, the most memorable of which was a live rocket launch that busted a hole in the space-time continuum. Yeah, Fortnite is getting difficult to describe.
>> And with the next 6.21 update, the glider will be less stealthy, and there will also be balloons.

After spending nearly a year in Steam Early Access, the Quake-inspired retro-FPS Dusk will go into full release on December 10. The game will launch at a discounted price of $16.66, while everyone who paid the full $20 price for it prior to Halloween will get the upcoming Dusk digital graphic novel and one week of advance access to the third and final episode to make up the difference.
Forza Motorsport 7 is getting a bunch of new Hot Wheels cars
https://www.pcgamer.com/forza-motorsport-7-is-getting-a-bunch-of-new-hot-wheels-cars/
Forza Motorsport might be the more sober-eyed sibling in the racing series, but that doesn't mean it can't indulge in some Horizon-esque arcade fun every now and then. Following last year's Forza Horizon 3: Hot Wheels expansion, comes the addition of seven new Hot Wheels vehicles to Forza Motorsport 7.
Pete Hines apologizes for Fallout 76 beta download issue, says it won't be 'the last bump on the road'
https://www.pcgamer.com/pete-hines-apologizes-for-fallout-76-beta-download-issue-says-it-wont-be-the-last-bump-on-the-road/
During Bethesda's stream of the Fallout 76 beta on Tuesday (from Australia), Pete Hines was asked how the beta was going. "Ask a PC person how it's going today," he replied. "Not particularly fine."
(...)
"Apologies to anyone who had to download that stuff," said Hines. "But, you know, I'm here to tell you: it's not going to be the last bump on the road. And hopefully we continue to smooth those out, but that is in fact the whole point of doing this beta, is to find those things and see if we can't resolve them, while also letting people just have fun and enjoy the game."
Fallout 76 dataminers uncover lots of new perk cards, including some for outlaws
https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-76-dataminers-uncover-lots-of-new-perk-cards-including-some-for-outlaws/
The moment new game files appear on our PCs, curious players begin to snoop around in them to see what they might be hiding. The beta only arrived Tuesday but dataminers have already begun digging into Fallout 76's files, and have unearthed some perk cards that we haven't seen yet, including a few that will make engaging in bad behavior a bit easier.
The new trailer for horror game Man of Medan reveals its spooky curator
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-new-trailer-for-horror-game-man-of-medan-reveals-its-spooky-curator/
I've played the demo for Supermassive's horror game Man of Medan a couple of times now. If you've heard of the PS4 game Until Dawn, it's a similar mix of attractive young people falling afoul of ancient spooky happenings while things jump out at you. Now there's a new trailer that shows off its Rod Serling-style narrator, as well a look at the game's boat-based horror.
Losing heroes in Artifact isn't always a disaster explains Magic creator Richard Garfield
https://www.pcgamer.com/losing-heroes-in-artifact-isnt-always-a-disaster-explains-magic-creator-richard-garfield/
"After the flop—BAM—they're dead before they even had a chance to cast anything". Richard Garfield describes the pain of losing a hero in Valve's upcoming digital card game, Artifact. Though this is an understandable reaction from new players, high-level Artifact players may intentionally sacrifice their heroes for the opportunity to redeploy to a different lane.
EA reveals all of Anthem's ultimate abilities
https://www.pcgamer.com/ea-reveals-all-of-anthems-ultimate-abilities/
A new Anthem update takes a look at the ultimate abilities of Javelins, the heavily-armed, highly-mobile suits of power armor that players will slip into before venturing out into the dangerous game world.
Ultimates are powerful special abilities that players can wheel out when situations get particularly hairy. It's a fairly common multiplayer mechanic, and it doesn't sound like Anthem will stray too far from the well-established basics: Ultimate abilities hit hard but must be charged up before use, a relatively slow process that can be hastened by taking down enemies, assisting allies, or equipping certain items.
World of Warcraft: Classic demo will limit players to one-hour sessions at launch
https://www.pcgamer.com/world-of-warcraft-classic-demo-will-limit-players-to-one-hour-sessions-at-launch/
The World of Warcraft: Classic demo will officially open its doors to the world on November 2, which is tomorrow. And with tomorrow just a day away, Blizzard has announced that it's going to implement a cooldown timer to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to play.
Limbo and Inside developer is tired of the limitations of 2D games
https://www.pcgamer.com/limbo-and-inside-developer-is-tired-of-the-limitations-of-2d-games/
Arnt Jensen, the co-founder and art director of Limbo and Inside developer Playdead, said in October that the studio is working on "a fairly lonely sci-fi game [set] somewhere in the universe." (...)
In a more recent interview with Danish site DR, Jensen expanded on the concept a bit, saying that the new game will be bigger and more open than Playdead's previous games—and will move away from the 2D style that Playdead is known for.
New Phoenix Point trailer shows off the X-Com successor's weird-ass aliens
https://www.pcgamer.com/new-phoenix-point-trailer-shows-off-the-x-com-successors-weird-ass-aliens/
There's a new official trailer for Phoenix Point, the X-Com successor currently in the works by creator Julian Gollop and Snapshot Games. It shows off the game's odd enemy creatures, strategy layer and physics-based combat, as well as its pretty mean-looking bosses. Check it out above.
Scum adds a dong slider, Supporters Pack owners get an extra two inches
https://www.pcgamer.com/scum-adds-a-dong-slider-supporters-pack-owners-get-an-extra-two-inches/
Videogames, broadly speaking, handle dongs in one of two ways: There's randomization, such as in Rust, and there's the user selectable, as seen in Conan Exiles. The multiplayer survival game Scum will be taking the latter approach in its upcoming Wild Hunter update, which will enable players to customize their wangs using the same attribute points that determine strength, stamina, and intelligence.
