SSJ12 please get a decent graphics card! That way you can talk from experience rather than what you've seen or heard.

why dont you BUY me one then? Right now I;m happy with just being able to run UT3 on medium.

$120 isn't much more than the cost of a new game, surely you could swing that and get a 9600gt?

If it makes you feel better it has twice the capabilities of the PS3 GPU....

Do it do it do it do it

I;m waiting on Intel's Nehalem... then I'll get nVidia's best.. hopefully nVidia either has a GX2 or gives Intel Sli tech licensing around that time.

Still if i have some cash sitting around I might, or get an 9800GTX+.

I'm trying to find a cheap/nice apartment right now, going to college, work, just signed up for two Fall classes which means two paychecks worth of books (max i make in a paycheck is like $340), have to buy the textbook for my summer class, buy Office 2007 for my summer class, figure out a budget if I do find an apartment, etc.

I'm slightly to buzy to even play extended periods. I still have no put in enough time to beat DBZ: Burst Limit yet.

All my game purchases as of late has been discounted games off Steam.

Hmm yea I've heard you talk about the "future beast before" A core3-Quad - Aprox 45% faster clock for clock and double the floating point performance of the Core 2. Dual/Tri channel ram - depends on whether you go eXtreme edition or not. 6 GB DDR3 or 8GBDDR2 depending on whether you go mainstream or eXtreme. GTX280+ 55nm - The real performance king this year. Don't buy the 65nm one people you'll regret it. If you want power, get the 55nm one. (Faster clocks, cheaper, less heat) It will be two of those.

I thought that the 280 is 55nm... I know the GTX+ is. Isn't 90% of all future nVidiaGPUs going to be 55nm or smaller (hopefully 45nm will happen by next year... but most likely not)

btw isnt the 8-core Nehalem supposed to be out in Feb?

The extreme edition is Q4 this year. But yea, the Gtx 280 is 65nm and about 560mm^2, with an 11% optical shrink it gets to be a more manageable 500mm^2 or so. It'll two out of three of "faster, cheaper, cooler" So it seems like a much better deal and it won't be so much of a pain to SLI two of them and deal with the heat.

Buying now = buy AMD/ATI, buy later and Nvidias GTX280's will start to look very nice.

Tease.
