I wouldn't worry. RDR2 has nothing on the game play design of BotW. The attention to detail is astounding in RDR2 yet the game play so far is the same old. Control wise BotW also works much better. They are two very different games.

You can better compare it to Horizon zero dawn. RDR2 might be better than that, except for now the clunky controls and not so good HDR use are holding it back a bit. For world design it easily beats HZD, of course weapons and enemies are kinda limited due to the setting.

I haven't played AC odyssey, that should be a better comparison. Both trying to be semi realistic 'limited' by accurately representing a time period.

Can't wait to play more. I need to head back to camp as apparently my weapons are on my horse there.

The world feels as immersive as the one from the witcher for me but without the magic and with better graphics. :p

I forgot about the Witcher. It had some good writing but world detail was not as good.

Don't count out God of war with its excellent use of wide color and HDR and a real sense of progression, opening up more of the world and getting more powerful to take on the valkyries. Damn it's a good year for games!
