I disagree. Your Broadwell-E chip is no slouch. I would hang onto it for a few more years and hopefully you get something more tangible than just a couple of extra CPU cores.

I mean... Your 6850K is close enough to the 8700K... Worth upgrading to the 9900K? Probably not yet in my opinion.

I need single core performance and a lousy 3.8GHz boost won't get me there. I've been struggling with Rocket league at 144fps for quite some time and I've been waiting for the first good mainstream 8 core. I think I've waited long enough.

It's good timing and a good pairing to a 2080ti that I'll also gonna get at some point.
