Naaa ... that's not really the right way of looking at it. I've always likened it to Youtube and recently MM have also likened it to Youtube, so I'd stick with that. You don't really need to use the Youtube aspect of it of course. There's nothing stopping you from just making stuff yourself and not sharing it or accessing the thousands of creations people make.
You have a levelling system that is cut into categories. For instance, if you mostly make music you'll eventually start to dominate that discipline. The more you dominate that discipline, the higher your score and the more you appear at the top of the list when people search. You can become a celebrity amongst the community just as you would with Youtube. There's even a category simply for finding and sharing quality content/assets/music etc.
