You do realize many people work on weekends right? But one may argue that some people go and vote to get out of work. Imagine if it was a national holiday. I can see a lot of people doing fun things on that day instead of voting. It's their day off, they may not want to sit in a line to vote. Or take off Monday as well and make a four day weekend or something. |
There's no chance to vote prior to election day? In Sweden you can vote several weeks ahead of election day. Under controlled circumstances ofc.
