All this heritage nonsense is bullshit anyway. Who your distant ancestors were shouldn't matter one bit for you. I don't care if your great great great grandpa was killed, raped, enslaved or got his land taken away. That shit has nothing to do with you and I won't respect you any more or less for it, let alone pay you reparations or give you special rights. You've done shit and mooching off of what your ancestors did or have suffered for is despicable.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
