My bad, it was Week 6. Forgot that Green Bay had their bye early that season.

Not that it matters much, at least as long as you stop producing any arguments of your own. If you have anything to refute what I've said beyond "some other people said Eli was bad too," then I'd love to hear it. But referencing fan opinions as proof of how someone is playing is about as useless and biased as citing Skip Bayless or something. People are just absurdly fickle, especially about things they care about. The same fans who booed Rodgers off the field and left the stadium early were probably the most vocal supporters when they reached the NFC Championship later that season.

You'll have to link me to the referenced argument, cause I'm not remembering it off the top of my head.

Also if you're going to accuse me of hyperbole, we really need to address the ridiculous degree to which you've employed it. You've somehow taken me saying that a QB who's posted average stats this season could probably put up decent numbers if the front office had done a better job, and extrapolated it to "defending the Giants at all costs." Not only was the original context of my post criticizing the Giants, but the only thing I've said in defense of Eli is that he's posted average stats. If that qualifies as '"defending at all costs" to you, then Lord help us if you ever actually run into American sports talk radio.

Remember, this year's Giants have a record of 1-5 and it's evident that they won't be able to turn this season around, because the team sucks at too many positions, including QB. That's why I said we are at a point where not even Giants fans would defend this team. You continue to liken this to the situation of the Packers being 3-2 when Packers fans certainly didn't throw in the the towel for that season. They were frustrated by a clear loss, sure, but it's beyond doubt that fans were still expecting playoffs at the end of the season, if somebody asked them that question.

I said that you seem to defend the Giants at all costs which then led to the real conclusion in my previous post: You are defending yourself because you can't admit how wrong you were. All of this started when I told you that you say disturbingly nice things about a team that is total crap, because you don't want to come across as a hater. Everyone who frequents the NFL thread knows that you are a Patriots fan and most people remember that the Patriots fell to the Giants in the Super Bowl, twice. It would be natural for a Patriots fan to hate the Giants, but you don't want to be put in that corner. The whole point here is that it wouldn't make you or anyone else a hater if the Giants got called crap and their front office a bunch of idiots; this year's Giants are really that bad. You are free to say that the Giants suck donkey balls.

Also, the discussions with you tend to quickly drift into complete seriousness. I find myself in a fight because of something that was essentially a one-liner, one of those jokes that are funny because they are true. You don't want to be perceived as a Patriots fan who is still bitter because of two losses to the Giants in the Super Bowl. But remember, in both of those years the Giants visited Lambeau Field and took advantage of Packers teams that were off the mark in all three phases of the game on those given days. But that was then and this is now. I am a Packers fan and have no fears to call the 2018 Giants crap, because objectively they are crap.

All right at this point I'm getting tired of responding to this, especially when I'm beginning to think that we're not even arguing the same thing, so I'll simply say this.

I've literally never said that this year's version of the Giants isn't terrible. In fact, I said they were an awful team in my first two posts on the matter. I'm not really sure how you got to thinking that I don't believe the Giants are bad. All I said was that I think a lot of the Giants' terribleness was due to incompetence by the front office. The closest I came to saying that the Giants weren't awful is saying that I thought they could be a decent team if the front office hadn't bungled the situation so badly.

Also I'd really appreciate it if you stopped trying to project some sort of mindset onto me. I don't care much for the Giants, but the notion that me speculating that they could be a halfway decent team if their front office wasn't horrible somehow causes me to become a closet defender so I don't get viewed as a hater is frankly absurd.
