With the Switch it makes sense that it isn't fully BC because of the format choices, so they have to rely on software emulation, we shall see where that will go as far as legacy offering goes. Microsoft has been doing the right thing here, don't need to explain. Sony mostly dropped the ball in this category, and it didn't have to. All we have is a small legacy selection of PS2 titles and (albeit pretty good selection of) PS1 titles to play. I only draw my conclusion because of past actions, I think that is fair is it not?

Funny enough the Vita had better legacy offerings than the PS4 and they sold reasonable well. They bungled the PSTV which shouldn't even have existed. Why can't they just offer the same content on PS4? Why can't I play Xenogears on my PS4?

Really? I think you are giving a free pass to Nintendo but not Sony. You should be partial.

So Nintendo get excused because the format changes? But ps4 is literally not powerful enough to emulate ps3 software because it was a shit show of a design yet Sony don't get a free pass with the ps4? Come on buddy both Nintendo and Sony don't offer bc for the same reason. Because they can't. Switch 2 and ps5 will have no excuses but right now both of them do. I just find it funny the double standards and the witch hunt there is regarding Sony.

I mean, I just said to you why. It is not a disc based system, so it rules out hardware BC. Software wise, we still need to see dude.. they *just* launched their online nesflix thing and it is relatively new compared to the competition. So we will see. Near the end of its lifecycle, we will talk about it. Having said that, please don't talk about witch hunts and other nonsense, you're the one bringing in Nintendo and Microsoft into this convo while this thread is about Sony. Stop trying to turn it into something else and stop thinking that everything I say is an attack on Sony. All I am saying it that I have my doubts when it comes to Sony offering their legacy content. There is a goldmine waiting there and they are not fully taking advantage of it. And what I said to Twintail is that I think they are looking to see how they can monetize it. Why? Because from what I understand this is about software emulation only. Not hardware based. Furthermore, I have seen Sony being iffy on legacy content before, there was an exec arguing against BC before but then they went ahead with the PS1 classic mini. See how that is inconsistent?
