The news, part two:

Dungeons & Dragons Online gets its 40th update, players get a free Ranger's Cloak
https://www.pcgamer.com/dungeons-and-dragons-online-gets-its-40th-update-players-get-a-free-rangers-cloak/
Dungeons & Dragons Online went live on February 28, 2006, and so October 3, 2018 isn't really an anniversary of any obvious sort. But it is the release day of the game's 40th update, Cloaked in Darkness, and since that's a nice round number, Daybreak Game Company is giving away a swanky new Ranger's Cloak to everyone who stops by the DDO Store.

Interesting bit of trivia: The Witcher, released back in a time when nobody knew who (or what) CD Projekt was, was published by Atari.(...)
Things are different now, of course. CD Projekt is a monster, Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games to come along in year, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will have the privilege of distributing it in North America.

Doomfist is now Doomfish
https://www.pcgamer.com/doomfist-is-now-doomfish/
Halloween is coming, and everyone is dressing up—even Overwatch's imposing, intimidating super-bad guy Doomfist. Or as he's now known, Doomfish.
Blizzard teased the "Swamp Monster Doomfist" legendary skin as part of the buildup to the Halloween Terror event that kicks off next week. There's probably a Shape of Water joke to be made here, but I haven't seen the film and honestly I don't get what's so sexy about fishmen in the first place. Have you ever actually touched a fish? Or smelled one after it's been out of the water for awhile? Not pleasant, let me tell you.

Cheating is a problem in an awful lot of online games, and Playerunknown's Battlegrounds is no exception. It's a fairly common complaint among the PUBG community that the developers aren't doing enough to combat cheaters, but numbers assembled by redditor sjk045 indicate that a whopping 13 million accounts have been permanently banned over the past 69 weeks.

An official VR Twin Peaks game is in development
https://www.pcgamer.com/an-official-vr-twin-peaks-experience-is-in-development/
Collider Games is developing Twin Peaks VR, an interactive experience which is set inside the Red Room.
The “experience” is being developed in conjunction with Showtime, the main distributor of Twin Peaks’ third and in all likelihood final series that aired last year. An announcement on the Collider website explained that Twin Peaks VR would include “iconic moments” from both Twin Peaks: The Return and the original series that premiered in 1990.

Northgard, the excellent Viking RTS which launched earlier this year, has released a new and free expansion. Titled Ragnarok, the expansion adds an impressive number of features, all of which are themed around the Norse end of the world myth.

Footage of Amazon’s MMO New World has been leaked online. The nine-minute video shows one of the closed beta players exploring a grassy area of New World in what is clearly an early stage of play.

Fallout 76 beta release date: everything we know
https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-76-beta-date/
The Fallout 76 beta's release date is on October 30th on PC. It will launch seven days before exclusively on Xbox One on the 23rd, which is kind of annoying, but it'll still last for two weeks on PC. The plan is for the beta to then turn into the release version, and it'll be a 45GB download. You won't be able to pre-load the beta, unfortunately.

>>We'll have to forgive the grammar mistakes.

Total War: Warhammer 2 is getting pirate-y DLC featuring giant enemy crabs next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/total-war-warhammer-2-is-getting-pirate-y-dlc-featuring-giant-enemy-crabs-next-week/
Total War: Warhammer 2 is getting another DLC pack next week, the pirate-themed Curse of the Vampire Coast. Check out the cinematic trailer for it above.
Curse of the Vampire Coast features four undead pirate Legendary Lords, units like gun-wielding deckhands and a themed campaign to enjoy. Oh, and big enemy crabs. You'll see those towards the end of the trailer above, and they must rank as some of the oddest Total War enemy types ever. The sea has very much gone wrong in Curse of the Vampire coast. Luthor Harkon is the first of the Legendary Lords to be revealed, with the rest presumably being discussed later this week.
