Which Is Better For The PS3, Standing Upright Or Laying Down?

I have had a noise from my Wii when upright, I would describe it as a juddering noise (is that a possible description for your noise)

It only did it after I dropped it once, I thought I had broken it at first but it has only done it a couple of times since.
