I wouldn't really say there is any real discussion.
One side tries to assert their position as true, the other side is pretty much asking for evidence.
Obviously they are unable to provide evidence... So their position is lauded as ludicrous. - And rightfully so.

One thing that really does irk me is religion in our education system, asking a couple of relatively simple questions from my best friends kids just got the response of "God did it". - I feel that religion really does breed ignorance sometimes... Especially from literal theists (And there are lots!) who believe in the Bible/Torah/Quran in a literal sense, right down to the Earth being a hilariously few thousand years old.

Ironically... Now that we have a religious conservative leading our country... They have just thrown billions of dollars towards religious schools to try and buy the religious/conservative vote... This is at a time when religion is on the decline in this country, so I find it to be counter productive.

I would honestly believe the world would be a better place without religion to be honest.
