This may be the case for Nintendo fans and some older gamers who grew up with Nintendo,Only Mario(he's practically a Mascot for the Japanese nation nowadays) and Pikachu are recognizable if one isn't a Nintendo fan/Knowledgeable gamer or just a casual gamer.

No, every gamer heard about all those Nintendo characters and actualy plenty of people that are not in gaming heard for most of those characters, while for instance I that have PS4 and have PS1 and PS2, I didnt heard for last 3 characters that he mentioned. Fact is that those Nintendo IPs, games and characters are much familiar on market in any case generally than Sony characters, I mean even few times most of those Nintendo characters were even in MC in Happy Meal, you can say same thing for Kratos and Drake. :) I mean there is much higher possibility that some person that not at all in gaming headed for some of Nintendo characters while did not heard for not single one Sony characters.
