Let's go with the second part of the news, also very long:

Treyarch has released an official trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Zombies mode, featuring the US band, Avenged Sevenfold.
The trailer features a montage of zombie slaying action, in what looks like a Roman colosseum, complete with spike traps and zombie tigers—all of which will be familiar if you caught the story trailer, back in July. Oh, and there's also a tall guy that seems intent on vomiting—what is presumably—green acid all over you.

https://www.pcgamer.com/accounting-heading-to-htc-vive-and-oculus-rift-next-month/
Accounting+, a revamped version of the original game, is heading to HTC Vive and Oculus Rift in October.
Created by William Pugh (The Stanley Parable), Dominik Johann (Minit), and Justin Roiland (co-creator of Rick and Morty), Accounting+ is dubbed a "nightmare adventure comedy." The game takes the serious business of accountancy and gives it a fun and silly twist. You'll embark on your tenure with Smith & Smitherson, learning the "noble" accounting profession, which will involve entering Virtual Reality while playing in Virtual Reality.

https://www.pcgamer.com/amnesia-the-dark-descent-will-be-even-harder-from-next-week/
Frictional Games has announced that Amnesia: The Dark Descent will be getting a "hard mode" on September 28.
In a move that's a huge contrast to the Safe Mode, introduced to Frictional's SOMA, a couple of years ago, Amnesia will now be even more challenging. According to Frictional, the new beefed up difficulty will make it "a little harder to beat the game."
Fortnite Season 6 is coming a week later than we thought
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-season-6-is-coming-a-week-later-than-we-thought/
Fortnite Season 6 is coming a week later than we thought, starting on September 27 according to a recent tweet from the official Fortnite account. Seasons don't always stack up exactly one week after week 10, but an extra week isn't usually the case. Season 5 started just one day after Season 4. More time to clean up those challenges isn't a bad thing though, and we can expect the usual week of teasers leading up to launch.
Monster Hunter: World update adds new mouse control options
https://www.pcgamer.com/monster-hunter-world-update-adds-new-mouse-control-options/
The Monster Hunter: World mouse and keyboard controls were not quite perfect when the game released last month, but a new update promises to smooth things out a bit by adding new mouse control options for the in-game camera. The new control scheme, which Capcom said "is in line with the control standards for most PC games," can be accessed from the Controls tab of the Options menu.

https://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-developer-update-outlines-torbjorn-rework/
A new Overwatch developer update outlines a heap of new changes coming to the game. The most prominent change on the way is a rework to Torbjörn, changing how his turret works, removing his armor packs, giving him a new ability, and revamping his Ultimate.
Destiny 2: Forsaken players find easy new way to loot chest in the Last Wish raid
https://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2-forsaken-players-find-easy-new-way-to-loot-chest-in-the-last-wish-raid/
Nearly a week before the release of Last Wish, Destiny 2: Forsaken's new raid, players not only found a way into the raid area and up to a raid chest, they also happened upon a sketchy method to repeatedly loot the chest, with some players obtaining full raid gear sets before Last Wish was even released. Now that the raid is actually out, players have focused their secret-hunting efforts on the mysterious Wall of Wishes found at the start of the raid, and after a little tinkering they've uncovered an easy, legitimate way to loot a raid chest. It doesn't reward powerful gear, but it is a fun and fast way to nab some Last Wish weapons and armor.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider launched with a different ending that was patched out on day one
https://www.pcgamer.com/shadow-of-the-tomb-raider-launched-with-a-different-ending-that-was-patched-out-on-day-one/
If you played Shadow of the Tomb Raider all the way to the end, then you know how it ends. (Obviously.) But as Kotaku reported today, the game shipped with a very different ending, one that referenced a significant character from Core Design's original 1996 Tomb Raider. That ending was changed in a day-one patch, so most players would never see it, or even realize it ever existed.
Dead Cells is getting a Custom Mode before end of the year
https://www.pcgamer.com/dead-cells-is-getting-a-custom-mode-before-end-of-the-year/
Dead Cells, one of the best action platformers on PC, has now been out for more than a month, giving the team time to go to the pub, hang out on a beach, and play games that aren't Dead Cells for a change—so they said in a new dev update. They also shared their plans for post-launch content, starting with a new game mode called Custom Mode, which will arrive in the game's beta test branch in late October or early November.

https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-76s-map-is-called-appalachia-bethesda-confirm/
Fallout 76's map is called Appalachia, Bethesda revealed this week. In real life the Appalachian region, which contains the Appalachian Mountains, stretches up the Eastern US, from northern Alabama to southern New York state. West Virginia, where we already knew the game is set, sits fully within Appalachia, so the name isn't a huge surprise.

https://www.pcgamer.com/watch-a-launch-trailer-for-life-is-strange-2/
Life is Strange 2 is only days away from release, so here's a launch trailer for the first episode, called 'Roads'. It looks like it will be setting up the basics of the new season, which is about two young brothers, one of whom has mysterious powers, on the run from the police. Chloe and Max, the protagonists of the first season, won't be showing up, although there may be some nods to free spin-off The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit.

Little Bug, from debut developer Buddy System, is an indie game about guiding a lost eight year old home through a world of restless spirits, and I think it's worth knowing about ahead of its release next week.

https://www.pcgamer.com/sword-art-online-lost-song-is-coming-to-pc/

Last October, we got a port of Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, in February we got a new game in the series called Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, and last month we got a remaster of Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment. This weekend, publisher Bandai Namco announced that another game in the series was coming to PC—Sword Art Online: Lost Song.
Maximum Action enters Early Access looking like a mashup of Half-Life and Max Payne
https://www.pcgamer.com/maximum-action-enters-early-access-looking-like-a-mashup-of-half-life-and-max-payne/
Maximum Action, an old-school shooter that just hit Early Access, reminds me of lots of different games. Visually, it looks like it's from the same era as Half-Life, but the slow-motion shooting and gun-throwing is giving me hints of Max Payne, FEAR, Superhot, and the Action Half Life mod. Whether it'll live up to any of them remains to be seen, but the early reviews are at least promising.

https://www.pcgamer.com/stone-is-a-hip-hop-stoner-noir-about-a-private-investigator-koala/
Fancy a Big Lebowski-inspired adventure about a hungover koala detective searching for his boyfriend while spouting Australian slang? I mean, you've probably never thought about it before—but if it sounds like you're bag, then Stone, from debut Aussie developer Convict Games, is out now.

https://www.pcgamer.com/multiplayer-fps-world-war-3-begins-early-access-next-month/
Modern military multiplayer FPS World War 3 will enter Early Access on October 19 and will cost $28 (roughly £21), developer The Farm 51 has announced.
The shooter will have two modes—the first, Warzone, will see infantry, armored vehicles, and drones battle over fortified points. Winning smaller-scale fights will net your side resources that can be used to influence the War on a larger, tactical map. The second mode is Recon, which is basically a team-based battle royale about capturing various targets.
