Thursday news, part two:
Ken Levine apologises for BioShock's final boss battle
https://www.pcgamer.com/ken-levine-apologises-for-bioshocks-final-boss-battle/
Earlier this year, Pip asked: More than a decade on, does BioShock still hold up? I mean, it's no secret that its final boss battle was a bit of a stinker. Somewhat surprisingly, Ken Levine has now apologised.
To mark this year's Day of Atonement—the holiest day of the year in Judaism—the series director expressed sorrow "for the naked Atlas boss battle" at the end of the first game.
Frostpunk's latest expansion is out now, celebrates with two new trailers

Frostpunk's newest expansion, 'The Fall of Winterhome' is out now.
The new story trailer delivers a rather sombre message, left by a nameless former inhabitant of Winterhome. Named 'The Fall of Winterhome', it shows what happened to the city before the timeline of the main campaign. Developer 11 bit studios promises "hours of brand-new content" and a "unique map with fresh visuals." There will be more lore to uncover too, as well as "new mechanics" and buildings.
Destiny 2: Forsaken's new Gambit multiplayer mode is free for all players this weekend

One of the big attractions in the Destiny 2: Forsaken expansion is Gambit, a PvE/PvP hybrid in which two teams of four players race to dispatch waves of enemies and collect "motes" that enable them to occasionally take breaks and go mess with the other side. Tim ran it down in enthusiastic detail here, calling it "social and competitive, without having the relentless capacity for salt that getting spammed by Vigilance Wing and Graviton Lance in, say, Trials creates."
Halo Infinite will have microtransactions, but no loot boxes
https://www.pcgamer.com/halo-infinite-will-have-microtransactions-but-no-loot-boxes/
We don't know much about Halo Infinite at this point, except that it's been confirmed for PC and 343 isn't (publicly, at least) interested in a battle royale mode. But the mention of microtransactions didn't go over especially well with a number of Halo fans, who expressed unhappiness (such as in this Reddit thread) about the game's "pay to win" prospects, the return of a REQ unlock system, and/or the "anti-consumer" nature of microtransactions in general.
Neither Microsoft nor 343 have said specifically how Halo Infinite microtransactions will work, but studio head Chris Lee took to Twitter today to say that, regardless of whatever else happens, loot boxes are not part of the formula.

I've been playing The Bard's Tale 4: Barrows Deep for a few days now and so far it's been great (our review is coming), but not without some rough edges. Today, inXile explained how it plans to smooth them down, beginning with the first patch that it hopes to have out on Friday.
Ancestors Legacy's new singleplayer campaign arrives with a trailer

Ancestors Legacy has received a free update, adding a singleplayer Slav campaign which includes five new missions.
Developed by Destructive Creations, Ancestors Legacy is an RTS set in a medieval world, where you can choose to control one of the four playable nations—Viking, Anglo-Saxon, German, and Slav.
Please excuse my bad English.
