LawBreakers, the high-flying arena FPS created by Cliff Bleszinski's Boss Key Productions, is gone for good. The shutdown date had been set back in June, ending a brief flash of hope that it might have a future as a free-to-play game, and former senior environment artist Josh Rife (who is now filling the same role at Red Storm Entertainment) confirmed just ahead of the weekend that the curtain had fallen on schedule.

The Bard's Tale 4 comes out tomorrow, and if it's a big hit, inXile Entertainment boss Brian Fargo said on Twitter that he'll celebrate by trying to buy back Interplay, the studio he co-founded back in the early '80s.
And in case you were curious, yes, he is serious about it. "I certainly am," he told Variety. "My fans have been requesting me to bring back my old Interplay games for years and this would be the most amazing way to make that happen."

Traditional point-and-click games are in pretty good shape on PC these days, if you know where to look. Andy was a fan of Wadjet Eye Games' Unavowed, Pip chose The Lion's Song as her personal pick for 2017, and I had a good time with funny occult adventure Darkside Detective last year. That last one is now getting a second 'season', should it hit its modest Kickstarter target of £31,104.

This lunchtime, as I miscalculated the start of a PC Gamer meeting, I found myself with some extra minutes to spare. I used this time to download 98DEMAKE's September 1999 from Itch.io after seeing the developer tweet about it, promising that it takes a lean 5 minutes 30 seconds to complete.
