Consoles have already used Raytracing (GT5 used raytraced reflections, for example). It isn't anything new. The difference now is the dynamics. Consoles will struggle, at first, with the more advanced versions of it (as seen in Shadow of the Tomb Raider on PC). But, it's not something to worry about because it is a natural step in the science. Besides, a lot of the reasons that some of the current games are having slight performance issues with it on PC is because they weren't built with it in mind. That won't be the case for long. |
You sure you mean Ray Tracing in GT5 and not rasterization?
I can't find aything about GT5 using Ray Tracing.
