Wednesday news, part two:

Blizzard job listings hint at something entirely new
https://www.pcgamer.com/blizzard-job-listings-hint-at-something-entirely-new/
Blizzard’s job page is often an interesting place for inquisitive minds, offering up tiny glimpses into possible futures. Amid the vacancies for existing games like World of Warcraft and Overwatch are stacks of advertisements for unannounced projects. There are plenty related to a mystery Diablo project, but there are just as many openings for something new.

Lethal League Blaze will smack balls at you next month
https://www.pcgamer.com/lethal-league-blaze-will-smack-balls-at-you-next-month/
I’ve never watched or played a game of baseball, so I’m just going to assume it’s a lot like the future ball game presented in Lethal League and its upcoming sequel, Lethal League Blaze. So it must be the greatest sport of all time. But also pretty violent. Chill out, baseball players. Blaze is coming out next month, but you can smear your eyes all over this trailer in the meantime.

Scum's map may get much, much larger in the future
https://www.pcgamer.com/scums-map-may-get-much-much-larger-in-the-future/
Scum's map is a pretty big one—144 square kilometers—and it can take a while to haul yourself from one end to the other in the Early Access survival game. But if you teleport yourself into the sky using the admin console, you can see a map that is actually much bigger. It's about four times as big—at least potentially. Scum is an island after all!

Fortnite's drum gun is gone
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnites-drum-gun-is-gone/
I woke up to an exasperated cry of joy this morning as all the Fortnite players in the world simultaneously celebrated the removal of the drum gun from play. As of the v5.40 content update, the contentious weapon has been vaulted.

Pathologic 2's gameplay trailer is appropriately weird
https://www.pcgamer.com/pathologic-2s-gameplay-trailer-is-appropriately-weird/
The remake of Pathologic, renamed to Pathologic 2 last year to avoid confusion with the HD remaster of the original game, looks appropriately weird and disquieting in its new gameplay teaser. Strange is Pathologic’s bread and butter.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey isn't shackled to history
https://www.pcgamer.com/assassins-creed-odyssey-isnt-shackled-to-history/
Assassin’s Creed has always had an unusual relationship with history. It’s integral to the series and every game has been rich in historical detail, whether it’s the little facts about landmarks or characters, or the famous faces that you’ll meet as an assassin. It's never been accurate, but it usually feels authentic. But the more the series has progressed, the more it’s started to feel like the Disneyland of history, throwing in celebrities with wild abandon, turning its cities into places where every historical figure of the age seems to reside.
With Odyssey, Ubisoft is taking a different approach.

Drive Halo's Warthog in Forza Horizon 4
https://www.pcgamer.com/drive-halos-warthog-in-forza-horizon-4/
You’ll get more than just Master Chief’s favourite vehicle. Look up at the sky and you’ll see the ring bending around the world, while the track is littered with little Halo touches, from crates to the much more impressive Pelican dropship that will follow you from above.

Visit D.Va's stomping ground in Overwatch's new map
https://www.pcgamer.com/visit-dvas-stomping-grounds-in-overwatchs-new-map/
Overwatch’s new map, Busan, has gone live, letting players muck around in D.Va’s striking hometown. I’m not convinced D.Va would be too happy about her home being turned into a battleground, especially when players can also snoop inside her room, but at least it means she won’t have a long commute.

Strange Brigade gets some cowboy DLC and free maps
https://www.pcgamer.com/strange-brigade-gets-some-cowboy-dlc-and-free-maps/
Strange Brigade, the supernatural co-op shooter, is getting a bunch of new maps, missions and an additional character across the coming months. Some of it will be part of the game’s season pass, but the maps for the score attack and horde modes will be free for everyone.
