Its fine to like good graphics, but to obsess over small details like puddles is too much. Its unhealthy. Also they were wrong, so its baseless as well. I understand your point to some extent. I don't like games that look 16 bit era games like most indies. Its also that graphics can make a world more immersive. I feel they are a means to an end, something to accentuate the feel of the game. They aren't all that matters and they certainly don't sell games, but they matter. |
Sure there are people who obsess with details. But we do know that a lot of times this accusation is used even if a person like photo-realism or 4k instead of cartoon 720p... "gameplay is all that matters", "60fps or more" and other throw around.
The obsession with puddles or 710 vs 720p is usually people trolling games on the competitor platform.
And certainly graphics alone doesn't make a game, if the rest isn't up to par it will just be a boring or shitty 4k show.
