I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the main reason the PS4 version meta'd 6 points lower than XB1 with the same number of reviews is because the PS4 exclusive publications are still salty about Rise being timed. If you disregard those salty PS4 exclusive reviews, the average across all platforms is a point or two above 80, which really isn't bad at all.

I honestly think the game in general is average across the board, but people who think one console's reviews make the game overall "crappy" is pulling a bit of a stretch. That'd be like me saying a PC game was reviewed poorly, then gets ported to consoles and gets positive reviews, but then I usdee PC reviews to call it an "objectively crappy game".

It's good that I'm not the only one who came to that conclusion.

People were generally high on the reboot, and then for some reason hated rise, even though they were so similar, and the gameplay in rise was objectively an improvement.

Then people turned on the reboot too, and acted as if they hated it from the start. The 6-point difference between PS4/XB1 isnt a coincidence

Yeah, Rise added on to what the 2013 reboot created and it seems like Shadow is adding further on from Rise. This title isn't even exclusive or timed though, so the ill felt from the sequel 3 years ago shouldn't really be held in contempt towards the new game (that they have even yet to play).

I think you forgot to quote me.

I lost interest in the series because in the time it was delayed too many other good games came out. Maybe if rise of the tomb raider goes on ps plus I'll play it the same way I played the 2013 reboot.

Nah, this covers multiple fronts. Those who aren't interested in the game will see it as ssame old/mediocre and those interested in it already have set their own expectations for it. Thosethat have played and reviewed it think it's decent and not bad already.

Timed exclusivity shouldn't really play into any part of the game itself and it's quality, because then we'd have to apply that to every other system and those timed deals made as well (which we know will either be excused or denied).

It came out for two platforms, both of which were out there and able to be purchased from. THe only delay for the game was it's PS4 release, but we've also seen this delay happen with Crash Trilogy for example, and that game still got good reviews and enough people who waited to purchase or double dipped with it.

I'm not desperate to buy it as I've still got the previous title to play myself, but I'm more interested in JC4, so that lands at the top of my priority play list.

I'm the same as you. Not desperate to play and I've a ton of other top quality ps4 games to play both exclusives and multiplat.

I'm not avoiding their games because of a protest. I'm avoiding because i lost interest while they were not on my platform. They missed their chance. Same with pubg.

Tomb raider still sold very well on ps4 despite the delay. Better then xbox version even. But they surely lost a ton of sales being late. I speak for myself when I say I've lost interest in the series not everybody on ps4.
