The game was kind of overhyped here on VGC to be fair. Not only have I seen people saying that it would outsell Batman: Arkham City to become the bestselling superhero game of all time (Batman Arkham City sold around 15m including digital) and people calling it GOTY already, but look at how many people were expecting 90 or above here on the prediction thread:

That's not to say that 87 isn't a good score, it is still quite good, but it's also nothing amazing. As a Spider-Man fan I'll most certainly still be playing it, hopefully it can live up to Spider-Man 2 (2004) in my eyes.

As for the 97 and 95, outliers are outliers. And one might have been a joke/troll post, not sure though.
