Now that's a great score. Sony is racking up critical hit after critical hit in terms of exclusives.

Now, time for a crazy prediction: I think Spider-man is going to be the best selling PS4 exclusive, PERIOD. Yes, it will sell more than Horizon, Uncharted 4, GOW, and even TLOU 2. Anecdotal evidence, but my friends with PS4's who usually play GTA or COD (they didn't care for GOW or UC4) are super hyped for this. Also, I think this is like the most marketing I've seen for a game, maybe except a few games like Halo 3, GTA V and Destiny 1/2.

The debut might be a little less than God of War, but I think this will a hot ticket holiday item alongside Smash, which will give it significant boost it's sales.

Hardly take that as proof. A big game from a well known company like this will typically all average approximately 90 from us online.

But this game has HUGE hype on it for the below reasons:

1. Marvel vs. DC (All the Marvel fans want it to be better than the Batman games to win whatever made up victory partisan fans win)
2. It's not a movie tie in/cash game, so expectations for it to not be garbage are gone.
3. It's made by a well known and liked company
4. It's exclusive to a system (again, partisan victory to Sony fans)
5. It's Spiderman. Pretty sure he is the most popular superhero in the world. It's either him or Batman in merch sales.
6. E3 reception. It was hugely talked about and awarded for two E3's in a row now.

That is huge hype and expectations around this game. Is an 87 (current as typing this) a score that lived up to the hype? I would say no. I would say it would need a 90 to live up to the hype. Sounds like it suffers from the main fault of 90% of open world games in that it had pointless, boring, tedious side quests to fill up the world.
