PS4 is not like XBox, which is always on standby unless you unplug it.  Most people I know turn the PS4 console off completely, myself included, unless suspending a game in standby mode.

The Xbox does that?  You can't turn it off completely? That's weird. 

The only time I put my ps4 on standby mode is when I want to upload save files to the cloud or to download something when I'm not using it.
