Even if making it illegal to own a gun caused the crime rate to go down, I don't necessarily think that would be a worthy reason to remove them. I'm certain there are situations where owning a gun has saved someone's life. I don't like to see more and more laws put into place; this is supposed to be the land of the free, but I feel that more and more people are wanting the government to step in and regulate.
I was in a conversation with someone who wanted there to be restrictions imposed on people's ability to order fast food. Sure, people would eat less fast food; but at what cost? A few bad apples spoil the bunch, as they say.
