Today, QC Games announces Breach, an action-RPG that straddles the boundaries between Diablo, Guild Wars 2, and Monster Hunter. Spintires: Mudrunner, the ultra-niche off-road driving sim, is getting a sequel
https://www.pcgamer.com/spintires-mudrunner-the-ultra-niche-off-road-driving-sim-is-getting-a-sequel/
It's been quite a journey for the extraordinarily niche ("so niche it makes Munich Bus Simulator look mainstream") off-road driving simulator Spintires: From surprise success through a beef with the publisher, allegations of sabotage, resumption of development, and ultimately a remastered edition, with updated graphics and new vehicles and maps, that arrived last year. And soon—likely next year—we'll get a full-on sequel.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been delayed into 2019
https://www.pcgamer.com/bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night-has-been-delayed-into-2019/
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night became the richest videogame Kickstarter of all time when it pulled in more than $5.5 million in the summer of 2015. Despite having all that green lying around, actually getting it finished is proving to be a real challenge. It was initially slated to come out in March 2017, but that was eventually pushed to the first half of 2018. And in a Kickstarter update posted today, Iga—that's producer Koji Igarashi—delayed it again.

>>Shikamo made a thread about this new delay.

https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077-dev-has-just-not-been-ready-to-share-e3-demo-footage-publicly/
In June, Cyberpunk 2077 topped the PC Gamer Best of E3 2018 awards. Here's everything we know about CD Projekt's next RPG—which includes a link to the leaked audio from its E3 gameplay demo. Footage of that is yet to be released to the public. Speaking to our Samuel at Gamescom, the developer has spoken about why we've been kept in the dark.

Ubisoft is making a new The Settlers game
https://www.pcgamer.com/ubisoft-is-making-a-new-the-settlers-game/
Ubisoft is making a new game in strategy series The Settlers, it has announced.
It's simply called—in line with annoying modern game-naming standards—The Settlers, and it'll be with us in fall/autumn 2019. You can check out the first trailer above, and it certainly looks the part.

Cyberpunk 2077 quests similar to The Witcher 3 'in terms of playtime and complexity'
https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077-quests-similar-to-the-witcher-3-in-terms-of-playtime-and-complexity/
Our Cyberpunk 2077: Everything we know about CD Projekt's next RPG roundup suggests The Witcher 3 dev's latest will be huge.
Speaking to Samuel at Gamescom, quest designer Patrick Mills says logic was crucial while crafting The Witcher 3's DLC quests. He says he and his team would often ask themselves if certain in-game actions made sense—both in relation to quests and the game's overarching plot.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord trailer showcases singleplayer campaign
https://www.pcgamer.com/mount-and-blade-2-bannerlord-trailer-showcases-singleplayer-campaign/
We already know a lot about Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord's multiplayer segments—including its five-on-five Captain Mode—but developer TaleWorlds Entertainment hasn't showed off as much of its singleplayer sandbox campaign. That changes at Gamescom this week, starting with a new trailer that shows some of the towns of villages of Calradia, as well as the sprawling campaign map.

Here's 14 minutes of Rage 2 gameplay footage
https://www.pcgamer.com/rage-2-gameplay-footage/
At QuakeCon this month, I got to sit down at a PC and play Rage 2. Much to my disappointment, the demo contained zero driving or open world exploration: the session was constrained to a single mission inside a building that consisted of combat only, and all of it on foot. It's not that combat isn't fun—I enjoyed the demo—it's just that I really wanted to check out the driving. This is id Software, after all, they've got first-person shooting pretty well figured out by now, so most of my curiosity about Rage 2 is about everything else: the post-apocalyptic open world and crazy vehicle stuff from Avalanche Studios, developer of Mad Max.

>>I guess there was some kind of NDA and that's why they're showing it now.

We also learned that developer CD Projekt Red has "just not been ready" to share the FPS/RPG hybrid's E3 demo footage publicly. What it is ready to do, is release a handful of new screens.

PUBG will announce something new tomorrow—it could be a shooting range
https://www.pcgamer.com/pubg-will-announce-something-new-tomorrowit-could-be-a-shooting-range/
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' mobile variation has a shooting range—a feature which PC players have been calling out for for quite some time. Now, it seems us desktoppers might be in luck.
Speaking rather cryptically via Twitter earlier today, Brendan Greene—aka PlayerUnknown himself—said "I couldn’t come to Gamescom and not reveal a little something new! More info tomorrow... ".

BattleTech's first expansion, Flashpoint, coming in November
https://www.pcgamer.com/battletechs-first-expansion-flashpoint-coming-in-november/
Tactical mech game BattleTech is getting its first expansion in November, which will add new branching short stories, three new mechs, and a tropical biome to do battle in.
The expansion is called Flashpoints, which is also the name for the new short stories. They're procedurally-generated missions stitched together with crew conversations, special events, and choices to make. Some Flashpoints will feature “consecutive deployments”, which means players won't be able to repair their mechs between fights. Given how hard the base game is, that sounds brutal.
