Their original target was 13-15m, which was reduced to 12m....but they stated originally, that this was supposed to be sales, not shipment.

With the news of extra costs to the extent of $1billion for broken 360's and extended warranties, I very much doubt they will reduce the cost of the 360 now...and if they do...it won't be by much.

I'm surprised and actually shocked that the sales have deminished to the levels they are not at.  Forget about the shipments of the unit.  They stated that they would sell 10m units exactly 1 year after launch...it has taken them 18-19 months to break the 10m sales barrier and as it happens, alot of these sales could be replacement models for a fair number of broken units.  Numbers floating around to the extent of 2.5m broken units from the 10m sold is a ridiculous amount of breakages.  Effectively on average 1 in 4 units sold have had problems.  WOW!!!

Anyway, I reckon they are way behind in there projections and I bet they cannot wait for Halo 3 and GTA4 to be released to help them out.
