Hope it isn't true. I quite like Obsidian, and I actually want to buy their games in the future, ones that aren't locked to a console store, let alone the crappy Windows 10 store.

Leave them be.

Obsidian have been mainly popular on pc. Are they likely to lose a lot of fans if they go exclusive to the Microsoft store?

I refuse to buy pc games if their not on GOG or Steam... so yes?
I doubt  Im alone in thinking so.

Also my PC isnt exactly a monster pc.... so I rather enjoy their current type of games (pillars of eternity I & II are both fantastic).
I grew up on D&D, baulders gate, Icewind dale, planescape torment.
Its fantastic theres still a dev makeing games like these, today.

If MS buys them, it ll be Windows store/ Xbox One only, and likely some type of game I wouldnt even be intrested in, because MS will meddle in what type of games they make.
Thats a loss for gameing imo.

The Obsidian "following" is people like me, that enjoy these top down isometric style RPGs, and turn based ones.
If MS buys them, things change and they ll lose basically all their following.
