Saudi Arabia is a country that formed in the 20th century after conquering the land from the Hashemites (The same dynasty that rules Jordan). They're tyrants.
But the thinking of the US and their allies is thinking is something like this:
Man 1: "Let's investigate these September 11th attacks."
Man 2: "OMG! The attackers were from Saudi Arabia!"
Man 2: "What does this mean? Should we investigate the Saudis?"
Man 1: "NO! We go to war on terror!"
Man 2: "Where is terror?"
Man 1: "NOT SAUDI ARABIA, but lets bomb the hell out of Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Afghanistan, Yemen, and attack Pakistan until children become afraid of the sky."
Man 2: "Look, the Shia people are helping fight against the ISIS and Al Qaeda."

I bet people dont know the real treat (Muslim Brotherhood from Egypt , Qatar, and Libya ) and also Hizbullah by the shia Iran also work together with hamas, and Muslim Botherhood . ISIS in the other hand are fighting against everyone including Saudi.
