"Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of radical authoritarian ultranationalism, characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and control of industry and commerce" uh so what is suppression of opposition, government control of economy etc etc etc called on the leftist side in your view?
with your definition it kind of seems like this fascism thing doesn't really exist at all... so what the hell are those antifa people fighting? |
Even in your heavily simplified definition it still mentions nationalism. Nationalism isn't left wing, you could even go as far to argue that hardline communist are anti nationalism. Even then that ignores the fact that racial superioriy is not Marxist and the strong ties between businessmen and the Nazi party which is super not Marxist. It's always been said that once you start looking at the extremes of both sides everything wraps back around and looks pretty similar but at the same time lumping fascism in with leftist ideology simply isn't correct.
