Flash Sales are returning to Steam, according to a report

Steam sales used to be very different. In addition to a standard price cut throughout any given sale, some games would have temporary mega-discounts called Flash Sales. For example, a game might be 50% off for a whole two weeks, but 80% off for a 12-hour chunk of that. Valve did away with them in 2016, but a new report suggests they'll make a return soon in a slightly altered format.
Rather than a Flash Sale lasting a fixed amount of time, developers will be able to choose whether it lasts 6, 8, 10 or 12 hours, according to popular YouTube channel Valve News Network. The report cites information from the Valve-backed Steam Translation Server, which volunteers use to translate Steam text into other languages.

STELLAR7Project has released a new version of his The Witcher 3 Redux mod. According to the release notes, version 1.4 allows parries to be immediately followed up with counterattack, allows Ciri to perform a counterattack and packs further fixes on freeform targeting.

The Witcher 3 E3 HD Birds Reworked Project significantly overhauls the quality of flying birds

Modder ‘Feregorn’ has released a pretty interesting mod for The Witcher 3. As its title suggests, The Witcher 3 E3 HD Birds Reworked Project dramatically improves the visual quality of flying birds to approach what was originally expected from the E3 demo.
As the modder claimed, this mod doesn’t cover all in-game birds as that isn’t necessary. After all, the owl, shallow, etc all have good quality models. However, the sparrows, pigeons and seagulls and crows have some really low-quality models. These models were drastically downgraded and reduced in visual quality because they spawn in swarms during gameplay and they were too taxing.

Stardew Valley portrait overhaul mod reworks all character expressions

In light of its multiplayer update last week, I had a rummage around in Stardew Valley's cabbage patch of player-made mods. My favourite find is Katekatpixels' ambitious Portrait Overhauls mod—which reworks all of the farming sim's characters, including their expressions and reactions.
Katekatpixels outlines more reworks on this Tumblr blog, and promises updates in the coming weeks and months on the project's Nexus Mods page.

Cloud Imperium has announced that Star Citizen Alpha 3.3 will release on October 10th. First Yakuza 0 PC patch released, fixes various crashes [UPDATE: Rolled back]

SEGA has released the first PC patch for Yakuza 0. According to the release notes, this first update fixes three crashes that plagued PC gamers.
Going into slightly more details, this patch fixes some crashes on boot and in cutscenes/gameplay, a crash when using Staminans to gain consecutive Heat abilities during Chapter 10 Fight, and a crash in Pocket Circuit mini-game after selecting a rematch with an opponent.
UPDATE: SEGA has rolled back the first PC patch for Yakuza 0. As the team noted, this patch was causing issues for some users who had no issues previously.
