Final Fantasy 13 - The first 20 hours or so of the game really suck. I only kept playing it out of spite. I paid $60, day 1, and I was going to get my money's worth even though I hated the game. But then after 20ish hours the game starts to get better and better. In the end I played the game for over 100 hours and I was left wanting more. I would play through the game again, but I don't look forward to playing through the first 20 hours. Everything after that is pure gravy.
Twilight Princess - Similar story but not as extreme. Here the first 10ish hours are garbage. After that the game is pretty good.
Undertale - I liked this game the first time I played through it, but I had no desire to play it again. After much begging from my daughter we played it together again trying a pacifist run. It was then I came to appreciate just how much depth there was to the game and it made it to my top 50 of all time.
curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.
