For me, Bayonetta has won so many major's that it has gotten pretty boring to watch Smash 4, because its starting to feel predictable. |
It's also appears to be at a point where everyone knows that Smash 4's time in the spotlight has run its course. It had a great few years, but I think late 2017 was when things kinda declined even during the 2GG championship series. Once ZeRo retired and guys like Ally, Nairo, and Larry Lurr fell off a bit, the scene wasn't as interesting, and Bayonetta didn't really help much either nor did Cloud in doubles. Plus, Ultimate is on the way now so people are gearing up for December 7.
