I know, but why set up the match if he couldn't even double jump back to the stage? He just rolled off the stage and killed himself multiple times. It looked like he had barely played Smash for more than a few minutes his entire life. 
No one was expecting Reggie to win or even put up a fight, but that was just painful to watch.

When I say I want more devs/producers to play, I don't mean I expect them to be good at it. Just show you have some passion for the game.

He looked like he'd never played it because it's likely that's the case the match was set up more as marketing as the misadventures of Reggie is often a powerful marketing campaign in itself.
