The only AAA/AA video game I've bought this year was Vanquish(PC).
It's been a pretty cheap year so far for me^^

You kind of hit the nail on the head with the last part of your last sentence. It LOOKS like a mobile game. And, graphics are by far the #1 factor that determines a budget. With it's 2D-heavy aesthetic, they would actually have to try to willingly throw away money in order to push the game into mid-tier territory. Clearly, the AA games I listed are on a budget-level far above Octopath, but still far below AAA. People seem to get pretty touchy when I point this out (not saying you are). I'm not sure if it's because it's a Nintendo exclusive, or what. I'm just calling a spade a spade, and want to see more Turn-Based games hit the mid-tier, full 3D world to explore, level. |
it baffles me how you can look at gameplay footage from Octopath Traveller and say it looks like a mobile game or that this game isn't a AA game, especially when you have Trails of cold steel 2 in your own AA-list.
