The game was terrible because they made a terrible product, so it is their blame. And the article says that "What we’ve put out so far has been successful”, and that includes that awful game, so why not make a good game this time and see if it performs better?

Zelnick used a typical PR statement, and we should take it with for what it is and don't take wrong conclusions (and false hopes) from that.
