I think you might be on to something. A non mass market Final Fantasy... 

A FF with passion like how I believe the original FF Versus XIII would have been. FFXIII was mass market and intended to pay for FF Versus XIII, and then FF Versus XIII became FFXV...

I really hope for something like that again, but it unfortunately doesn't look likely.
