The news, part two:

https://www.pcgamer.com/dontnods-investigation-game-twin-mirror-gives-off-heavy-rain-vibes-in-dev-diary/
Twin Mirror is Dontnod's upcoming "story-driven investigation game", that was revealed prior to E3. The trailer linked there echoes everything from Heavy Rain to Deadly Premonition, Silent Hill, The Evil Within and, of course, the developer's previous game Life Is Strange. Its latest developer diary, led by Oskar Guilbert and featured above, uncovers more about its "investigative gameplay".

Mafia 3 had a cold open that was so controversial, Hangar 13 'burned it from our servers'

Mafia 3 was not great, but it did get credit for tackling the rampant racism of its 1960s New Orleans setting head-on—a "bold, subversive move" in a game that was otherwise a pretty big letdown. It turns out that it was actually toned down somewhat prior to release: At one point it featured a "cold open" sequence that laid out exactly why lead character Lincoln Clay joined the Army and went to Vietnam, but developer Hangar 13 cut it, and scrubbed it from existence, because it was just too far over the line.

Former Guild Wars 2 narrative designer Jessica Price, who was unceremoniously fired from ArenaNet last week in the wake of a social media exchange with a content creator partner, has spoken out about her dismissal in a lengthy Twitter thread. Price criticized the way her firing was announced, a process she described as "an escalation" of the situation and an "active solicitation of harassment."

60-player fantasy survival game Rend will launch on Early Access at the end of July
https://www.pcgamer.com/60-player-fantasy-survival-game-rend-will-launch-on-early-access-at-the-end-of-july/
Rend is a 60-player survival game, but that undersells it somewhat. Players are divided into three factions, each collecting and storing souls in their Divinity Stones while simultaneously trying to destroy the stones belonging to other factions. Players can also form smaller clans within factions, and there are crafting and skill trees to work through as well.

Cyberpunk 2077: it was 'very smart not to show the whole world gameplay', says creator
https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077-gameplay/
As Cyberpunk 2077's gameplay footage remains this mythical thing, passed along by lucky E3 attendees like a folk tale about a yeti sighting or something, I'm reminded that the game is probably years away yet. Perfectionism is the goal, based on Cyberpunk creator Mike Pondsmith's recent conversation with IGN—and we're going to have to wait for it.
