1.) Have you used VR? If yes, what headsets have you used? What did you like and dislike about it?
Yes. I have both the HTC Vive and HTC Vive Pro.
HTC Vive: First time using it I was amazed by the technology and how fluid and perfect everything works. I was really immersed in the experience and taking my time with the application to getting used to it. After some time of testing around I noticed some stuff that started to bother me. For instance, the resolution and the issue of reading text. And for having the standard HTC Vive, the HMD didn't probably sit on my head. So, by looking down, it would move upwards and everything went blurry. Also, I had to adjust the HMD on my head all the time.
HTC Vive Pro: So, because of the issues above, I got myself the Vive Pro. The higher resolution clearly made a difference and the screen-door-effect was barely noticeable. The HMD sits perfectly and solid on my head. I don't have to adjust it during the game anymore. The experience got a rank up. But sadly, the increase of performance resources leads to random frame skips in some games. So, I desperately wait for the next gen GPU's to resolve this.
2.) Are you interested in VR? Why or why not?
Yes, definitely. It allows you an alternate option of experiencing games. And by far a way more immersed one that TV /Couch gaming could ever do. You ARE in the game. Seeing Glados in her real size right infront of you can be really intimidating. You don't feel this by playing on the TV. Everything becomes a certain real aspect to it. Size of Monsters, the world and so on. It's actually really amazing. But it's not just that. They way you can interact with your world is also a huge plus. Playing multiplayer FPS and scaring you opponent so he accidently drops his gun to the ground is just hilarious. It's not just simple button pressing anymore.
3.) Do you think VR will be popular in the future? Why or why not?
Yes, because it has a huge potential not just in the field of entertainment but also in the industry and education. With the right applications and controller inputs, everything can be made possible. And companies are already doing their research in those fields.
4.) What games do you want for VR? What games would make you buy a VR headset?
Gal Gun VR... XD I would try out everything so far. I got my multiplayer FPS games. But what I want to see would be a JRPG which is story focused and has a huge world to explore. I just don't wanna watch those characters evolve by looking at a TV, but I want to experience them first hand by being there. I would also like to see some animated movies for VR. I got Moss yesterday, and it looks really amazing so far.
