Most notably, following in the footsteps of CS:GO, plans are in the works to require two-factor authentication for all players wanting to play Ranked.

https://www.pcgamer.com/stonehearths-development-will-end-this-month-without-meeting-all-its-kickstarter-goals/
Stonehearth, Radiant Entertainment's ant farm-esque city builder, was successfully Kickstarted in May 2013. It raised $751,920, more than six times its goal of $120,000. After a string of alpha builds, it launched on Steam Early Access in June 2015, and while it's seen countless updates since, it is still missing several features mentioned in its Kickstarter stretch goals. Radiant Entertainment announced today that development on Stonehearth will end this month, and that several stretch goal features will not be added.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor—Martyr adds its endgame Warzone
https://www.pcgamer.com/warhammer-40000-inquisitor-martyr-adds-its-endgame-warzone/
Neocore's Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr may have some dents in its armour, but it's hard to deny that it captured the look, sound and atmosphere of Games Workshop's gothic-fantasy universe. Still, it fell a little short of what some people look for in an action RPG. This week's Warzone update goes some way to address that, but not without issue.

https://www.pcgamer.com/warhammer-vermintide-2s-sonnstill-event-promises-summery-executions/
The sun is shining (allegedly, depending on where you are), the birds are singing, so what better time to hole yourself up in front of your PC and beat another ten thousand of Warhammer: Vermintide 2's ratmen over the head with a bloody great hammer?
Clearly developers Fatshark agree, as they're celebrating the Summer Solstice with the Warhammer fantasy equivalent; Sonnstill.

Rage 2 leak helped devs avoid competing with '55,000-ton gorilla' at E3
https://www.pcgamer.com/rage-2-leak-helped-devs-avoid-competing-with-55000-ton-gorilla-at-e3/
In May, Walmart Canada leaked Rage 2—after which Bethesda returned with a tongue-in-cheek reply, before officially confirming days later. Despite being so close to E3 2018, id Software studio director Tim Willits reckons the leak helped the shooter stand itself apart from another, similarly-themed big hitter: Fallout 76.
