Well if you really like the team then the level they're playing at shouldn't really bother you.

Besides, if they're your local team, then the fact that you can easily go and see them should be enough reason to continue supporting them regardless of their level. And if you're not supporting your local team, well then why wouldn't you pick one of the top teams anyway? You can also have more than 1 favourite if you want.

I live in Canada, so obviously the local teams situation doesn't affect me, and neither does the promotion/relegation system either for that matter, since the MLS doesn't have it. Though the MLS isn't considered as prestigious as the big 5 European leagues.

Fuck it, I guess I'll choose AS Monaco FC as my team
