The news, the sequel:
A Way Out director says next game will also be published by EA

A Way Out sold one million copies within three weeks—more than EA thought it would sell in its lifetime. As reported by Eurogamer, this publisher/developer partnership will carry over to Hazelight Studios' next game.
Speaking to EG at last week's Gamelab conference, Hazelight director Josef Fares—who also led development on Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons—described the dev's relationship with EA as "super-good".
GTA Online rolls out Independence Day discounts, Guest List rewards, double cash bonuses

Grand Theft Auto 6's 'announcement' is a hoax, Rockstar confirmed today—but GTA Online's rolling update schedule carries on regardless. This week, San Andreas celebrates American Independence Day with a 40 percent discount on its "infamously star spangled" range of Fourth of July-inspired weapons, facepaints, outfits, and that useless firework launcher.
Why 'Wrecking Ball' is awkward to say, and other reasons Overwatch fans prefer 'Hammond'
https://www.pcgamer.com/why-wrecking-ball-is-awkward-to-say-and-other-reasons-overwatch-fans-prefer-hammond/#comment-jump
Overwatch fans are pretty much in agreement that the new hero Wrecking Ball, a spherical mech piloted by a genius hamster named Hammond, is cool. He's a fast, cute tank who reinforces the idea that the Overwatch universe is built on fun, not deadpan seriousness. There's just one little problem: lots of players hate the name Wrecking Ball. More to the point, many players would prefer Blizzard officially change his hero name to Hammond—so much so that someone started a petition for just that.
>>Hammond? Really? Can we all agree that whoever came with the name is a fan of Top Gear/The Grand Tour?
We Happy Few gets approved for Australia
https://www.pcgamer.com/we-happy-few-gets-approved-for-australia/
Australia turned the thumbs-down on We Happy Few in May, citing the game's incentivized drug use—players take a faux-narcotic called "Joy" in order to blend in with society and avoid being murdered—as too far over the line for approval. Last week, however, the Classification Board announced that it would reconsider the ruling, and today it revealed that the appeal has been successful.
Blizzard is adjusting several Hearthstone minions to make them more 'consistent'
https://www.pcgamer.com/blizzard-is-adjusting-several-hearthstone-minions-to-make-them-more-consistent/
A handful of Hearthstone minions will be changed in the next major update to bring their types more in line with their appearances and place in Warcraft lore. Molten Giant and Mountain Giant, for instance, are both being reclassified as Elemental minions, which adds flexibility to Elemental decks and "also makes more sense from a visual standpoint—these lumbering towers of magma and stone are the epitome of Elementals."
Rainbow Six Siege summer skins available, all players get two free packs
https://www.pcgamer.com/rainbow-six-siege-sunsplash-packs/
Ubisoft added 12 special summer skins to Rainbow Six Siege as part of a limited "Sunsplash Collection." Every player should see two packs waiting for them when they log into the game next.
The skin can otherwise only be purchased with Siege's real-money currency, cannot be earned through the normal drop system, and are only available until July 17. This is the second such temporary cosmetic pack, following the Outbreak packs we saw earlier this year.
South Korea's Destiny: Guardians is Destiny 2, with more microtransactions
https://www.pcgamer.com/south-koreas-destiny-guardians-is-destiny-2-with-more-microtransactions/
South Korea is getting its own version of Destiny 2. Dubbed Destiny: Guardians, it's effectively the same game available in the west, except for one crucial difference: it has a different Eververse vendor.
The Destiny 2 Eververse is an in-game store which sells various cosmetic items using real world currency, but South Koreans will get a different version. Gone is the familiar face of Tess Everis, and in her place will be Yuna. Unlike Tess Everis, Yuna sells XP boosts, weapons and armour, according to Eurogamer's translation of a Naver Sports report.

Fortnite's 4.5 update is out now, adding new weapons to both the Battle Royale and Save The World modes. Overall, it's fans of the Save The World mode who stand to gain the most here: that mode is getting a stink bomb, a new Freedom Herald Pistol, and new Stars and Stripes Heroes (pictured above) to celebrate Independence Day in the United States.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' latest PC update makes visual improvements to its Sanhok map, adds a new PGI theme, and makes adjustments to its UI during matchmaking.
Tweaks to its Thailand-inspired 4x4 tropical map include the addition of cracked bells, mossy rubble piles and a new cap on the central palace.
