It's actually just sarcasm and not condescension. But you'll get it some day.

I thought after getting amputated you'd live just 25 more instead of 40 or more but after getting amputated you only have 3 years left. This is for every diabetic that's careless its best not to get amputated ever and just die in your 70's everything intact .

I would think the amputation is not the problem. It's the fact that people get to the point that amputation is "needed"

Doctors don't just cut off limbs willy nilly. If as this study shows, a person only has like 3 years left to live after an amputation, would you not think that amputation would be a last resort for doctors? Most likely for those that get their leg amputated, their lifespan without amputation would be less than that 3 years. I doubt you will live another 25-40 years with a leg that a doctor says needs to be amputated. I would guess it would be like an infection, like the rusty nail in the foot. You will not make it past a month or year, if that.

So to any Diabetes people out there. Turn your life around now. If you wait until you hear you might need an amputee, it's too late. Your years are numbered to a handful at that point.
