Jim Carrey to play Robotnik in the Sonic movie

The SpongeBob movie was only live-action for a few minutes, and done in a way that complements the show's silliness. With the Smurfs movies is didn't work because the Smurfs were made more realistic looking, and the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies stank because they relied too much on "modern" humor.

I haven't seen any concept art for Sonic yet for this movie. I'm most worried it'll be like the Smurfs, more realistic looking in an unsettling way. They've shown they're not afraid to redesign Sonic. Best we could hope for is something that looks like Sonic '06, but hopefully better story-wise.
