Yeah I was rooting for them when he choose them and just stuck with them anyway since they're so close to the US. 

 

I could never cheer for a rival like Mexico is to the US.  I wouldn't expect them to cheer for us either.  Be like asking the Dutch to cheer for the Germans because they are geographically close.
