Most of what I've seen is people asking for their EG accounts to be returned.

Epic games is to blame for not warning users of the dangers of tieing their epic games account to a console.

There should have been a simple warning. Had there been one. Hundreds? Thousands? Millions? of players would not be experiencing the mess they are in right now. And in fact there still isn't a warning.

A simple "logging into this account may restrict access to other consoles, please go to bit.ly/abcd for more info" would suffice
