Indeed.
Ronaldo learned to be a better of more complete player with his national team.
Messi didn't learn much at all. I think it just reminds him about his own limitations, the ones he seemingly cannot surpass. Difficult to say for sure, but in any case, he looks like a beaten-down man dragged to a boring office party by his wife.
