Also, I would hate to double post, but do any of you realize that what is happening right now isn't new? You do know that, right? Former President Obama was doing the same thing back in either 2014 or 2015. The reason Obama started doing it was because there were an alarming number of reports that a lot of children coming across the border illegally were children who had been abducted by human traffickers. Before this, the law which currently allows this was originally passed in the late 1990s. Both the Bush and Obama administrations added to this law. Currently, President Trump wants Congress to recite or revise the law. Many of them don't want to do this because doing so would give Trump the funding for his wall.
So that's it. Trump wants his wall. The Republicans are spineless. The Democrats actually want to ride this out because they're hoping this will help them gain a few seats in the House and Senate in the upcoming mid term elections. If Libertarians had been in power, they would have ended the drug war which is the root cause of a lot of this mess.
