It's incredibly callous, IMO, to bring up a person's transgressions once they have passed away. He may have had a beleaguered past, but the man was only 20. How many of us wish we could go back and re-do some of the less than savory things we did at a young age? This man wasn't afforded an opportunity to grow, change, possibly even educate. This whole "good", "that's what he gets", "he deserved" climate is quite off-putting.

I feel mixed on it. On the one hand, I think it's kind of stupid that we as a society stop criticizing people the moment they're dead.

On the other hand, a lot of the times we only show humanity to people AFTER they are dead (see - almost every person who's commited suicide ever)

And honestly, I'm the kind of person who thinks that almost no one ever deserves to die, even serial killers.

So it's a mixed bag. I don't think most people are saying he deserved it. Just that the life he led was going to obviously make this the result, and that he is responsible for his decisions. I still don't agree with anyone entirely, though.
