I'm not gonna buy it anyway until I have a new GPU. Maybe there's something new by then.

But it's not just with these monitors, tho. I read Hardforum every now and then, and with monitors is always the same, specially Dell ones. Never buy an A00 Dell monitor, wait until A01 or A02 because there's always more problems with launch units than with later models.

Now the Asus one may not have the fan issue, but it may have other of its own, so I'd say the same again: to avoid the first batch of units and wait.
