The bitching isn't about crossplpay. We have known for months that there will be no crossplay with the PS4.
The bitching is about peoples accounts being locked from logging into on a Switch. They want their cosmetics, progression, ect all to carry over to the Switch. They don't give a shit about who they are crossplaying with. They want the stuff they earned and purchased with real money
